Butterfly, english country, formal, rain (and countless others) all represent types of gardens. If you are thinking about creating a garden like feel in your yard, James River Nurseries can help with that. If you have a specific design already in mind or have a plan that has been professionally drawn, our landscape team will work closely with you to bring that vision to life. Or, if you are like many, you know the space you would like to transform, but are unsure of the best design, we are comfortable with that too. Our on staff landscape architect and professional designers have the creativity, knowledge and skill needed to help design a garden that is appropriate for your space. By contrasting colors and textures your garden area can become a feast for the eyes.
The first form of gardening was a plant-based food production system, but there is evidence that as far back as the 16th century BC individuals began creating gardens for purely aesthetic purposes. This type of garden has long been desired as a place of peace, tranquility and a refuge from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
If you are considering a garden, and are seeking out creative garden ideas, you might want to consider putting the 2014 Historic Garden Tour on your itinerary. The event is schedule for April 26 through May 3. James River Nurseries is currently working on one of the gardens that will be featured this year. The garden that we are working on is scheduled for April 30th on the Historic Byrd Park and Maymont tour. As we get closer to the event we will post additional information, but for a preview of the event you can visit Historic Garden Week.
